Ailsa Craig Arts Centre is happy to present its Micaela Fitzsimmons (Blue Variations) & Diny Warren (For The Love of Indigo) exhibit. The grand opening will happen on Saturday, September 10th, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm and will be available for viewing every Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday until October 8th, 2022.

By any standard, Ailsa Craig is a very Scottish name. But there is no need to have Scottish ancestry. For many years Ye Olde Towne Hall has hosted classes even for the complete beginner.  Scottish dancing is enjoyed by people of all ages and from many cultures. There is an expression that “The music tells you what to do.” Jigs and reels are fast lively dances while elegant strathspeys and Scottish waltzes are slower. In an afternoon’s dance, you dance with many partners. The protocol is to choose  a different partner for every dance — and it’s proper for ladies to ask men. So, you don’t need to bring your own partner. We usually dance in lines with sets of 4 couples, although some dances have a different formation. When the music starts, you bow or curtsey to your partner then go through a series of patterns which vary for each dance. In all but the most formal balls, someone briefs the dances to explain what to do before the music starts. Often, the dance is walked through during the briefing to further help you learn the dance.

Middlesex EarlyON is taking their Play & Learn program on the road – to local splash pads – the week of August 15! This program will be drop-in, meaning no registration is required. The program will be located at Ailsa Craig Community Park Splash Pad from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Visit the informational poster below to learn more and view other dates/locations.  

Please note this program is weather dependent and will not proceed in the chance of extreme heat, thunderstorms etc.

Join us, Middlesex County Library and the North Middlesex YMCA, for a FREE Community Movie Night in the Park on Thursday, August 11th, near the Parkhill Sports Park/Derby Field (269 McLeod St, Parkhill).

Wear your pj's, bring a chair or a blanket and enjoy a fun family evening together! The movie being shown is The Bad Guys and will start at dusk.

The Middlesex-London Health Unit is hosting a GO-VAXX Bus Clinic in the North Middlesex Community Centre Parking Lot (224 McLeod St, Parkhill) on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The mobile bus clinic will provide first, second and booster doses to those who are eligible. The goal of the mobile clinic is to reach people who have not yet been vaccinated due to barriers, such as convenience and limited transportation options.

Join the Ailsa Craig & District Lions Club for their Family Fishing Day on Sunday, July 10th from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Come try to catch the biggest (or the smallest) fish. The cost is $5 per child or $10 per family including prizes and lunch. Catch-and-release family event and requires no license.

North Middlesex Community Presents 2022 Canada Day Fireworks on Thursday, June 30th. There will be food, music, face painting, games &  fun for the whole family!

Celebrations begin at 6:00 pm- bring your chairs, and blankets and come celebrate this wonderful community we live in.
